A very Jonas Friday night

Jonas1Stella was the happiest girl alive Friday night when her beloved Jonas Brothers’s tour buses rolled into Houston. She’s been looking forward to this concert since her birthday back in June when we bought the tickets.

Jonas18These were no plain old tickets either. They were VIP tickets which included admission to the Sound Check Party. Hours before the concert, while other fans were lining up, we were whisked inside with an exclusive group waiting to witness the JoBros run through their sound check. Up-close, just a few rows away, we got to see Jonas9revthe three brothers run through a couple numbers and play musical chairs with members of the audience, invited up on stage.

While our car was parked in the garage, it was clear some came a greater distance–perhaps even with the aid of some pixie dust. Jonas7When something seems strange, best thing to do is ask. So, I did. Turns out this attractive couple did indeed fly in for the show from the far away never-never land of Mexico. Seriously. They read where fans are sometimes pulled from the audience when costumed up for that song. And, so they were during the sound check.

Jonas16Two opening acts (Honor Society, GOOD; Wonder Girls, not so wonderful) later, the brothers Jonas took the stage to unbridled squealing and screaming adoration of the throngs of assembled, but none louder than the one next to me. Song after song, she was jumping, singing, loving every minute.

Deafening only begins to describe the experience for me. The concert rang in our ears all the way home–and the next day. Temporary hearing loss in exchange for memories that will last a lifetime? A good deal.
