Now serving in DaddyMom’s test kitchen

Actually, this snap happened at dinner last night. Friday evening and my kitchen just don’t go together. So, because the sink of dirty dishes magically vanished before I got home, we tried out Steak and Shake; a national chain new to Houston. John already experienced their menu on one of his school trips to New York City. (Yeah, school field trips to NYC. Don’t get me started.) It was a big hit all around. But, called for a home cooked breakfast follow-up:

Yummy DaddyMom Breakfast Pizza using the dough I had intended to use for Friday night dinner. Tasty? Thumbs up from the whole Monkey Troop. (Stella suggested less spicy salsa next time around. Agreed; peppered bacon bits added all the snap it needed.) it’s now on the weekend breakfast menu rotation.

Missing Miss Digna

Previews of weekend attractions? Not hardly. Gotta get this chores thing working better. Perhaps a tempting dinner out will lure the monkeys out to do their part.

John’s dream. My last night’s sleep.

Houston highways won’t be the same again: John began driving classes today. He is so excited. However, make no mistake: this photo is as close as he will ever get to being behind the wheel of Daddy’s Lex.

Zuzu at the zoo

As we tended to bringing the house back to life in wake of our road trip return (read: shopping, etc.), Zuzu was invited to the zoo by her BFF and neighbor Savanah.

You can take her out of the troop, but you can’t get her far from the monkeys.

She makes friends everywhere she goes.

Cone of shame dog

Asta wound up with an allergic reaction to something while we were away. Poor pup. He got the Cone of Shame because he kept rubbing on his itchy eyes. He doesn’t like it. We don’t either. But, he is doing better already. Maybe we should take him along on our next vacation.
