Super Park Heroes’ Mission Continues!

photo.jpg

With the Showcase of Countries behind us yesterday, our duty was clear: bang out the rest of EPCOT. Rides of daring ahead, more in one day than the whole trip so far. Can these intrepid super-kids get it done? Just you wait! (Dramatic music rises up with a burst)

See anyone missing here?

Our first true drama of the trip. Kate purchased the sweetest little box in Morocco and had carried the bag all day. Shortly after entering Mouse Gear, she realized the bag was not in her hand. Did Stella have it? John. Nope. It was gone. The three took off faster than I could stop them. Poof. They were gone and I was left with Zuzu. I stayed put, figuring they would eventually come back, or find help. Turns out Kate left it in the rest room where we had eaten dinner. Relieved, they returned and retail fun resumed. Another day in paradise.

DRAMA PART TWO: After we all regrouped and packed up to head over for the fireworks, I somehow walked off and left my iPhone on a park bench. We were ten minutes down the trail before I realized it. Returning to the spot, we realized it was gone for good. Thinking quick, I whipped out the second phone and dialed. A man answered, “I think you have my phone.” He asked where I was and returned it to me within a minute. I like to think the best of folks, but somehow it’s easier to do that at Disney World.

This looks like trouble

It's a curious thing how every path at Disney ultimately leads to a gift shop or restaurant. This one is the mother lode: it's located just inside EPCOT and has every Mickey-thing you can imagine. The doors slid open and the older three went in their own directions. The good thing is, they're on a budget and have their own separate spending money envelopes. Once their money is gone, the party is over. They're all over half-spent now. So, the tough-love part will kick in around Tuesday, I'm guessin'.

Greetings from our final stop: Mexico

(Almost like being home)photo.jpg

Around the lagoon we've traveled, seeing and experiencing every country at EPCOT. It's a long road to Mexico which really wasn't a strong finish. Seeing Disney's version of what's on our own back porch is mildly comical. It consisted of a boat ride tour of various scenes and was mas cliche. At the end of the boat ride, there was a long backup delaying the ride's end; they had more boats coming in than they could empty. John started to complain and I told him, "what do you expect? It's Mexico. Nothing happens on time here."

Greetings from Norway

Been here. Done this. Saw it yesterday at lunch. The film shown about Norway painted a picture of a dark and earnest people living in an inhospitable setting. Yum. Let's vacation there next.
