Does it look cold? Oh my, yes. Kate and Stella ride after me. This is
going to be a fun day.

I’ve been marked

I've been marked
Number and age. This is not a competition for the meek.

Run in, ride out. This will be a fast turn.

Tomorrow Stella and Kate will ride in the Teddy Bear Du-Athalon: a
quarter-mile run, two mile ride, quarter mile run. It’s a fun event
that follows on the heels of the Du The Bear Du-Athalon in which the
DaddyMom will compete: two mile run, 14 mile ride, two mile run.

Chris at Cycle World was full of great advice, explaining that there
are really FIVE events: run, transition, ride, transition, run. Each
segment is timed and the cumulative time determines placement.

As he spoke, my competitive juices began stirring…. Reason
interceded. I told Chris my goal is finishing; time is a tertiary
concern behind finishing and doing so without injury.

Check back tomorrow to see just how it goes.
