Our day away in Central Texas wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Peace Incorporated–aka Ft. Hood. John was nearly out of his skin and his Uncle Bud beaming with pride at showing off the museum. The rocket behind him? An Homest John.

Can’t take a road trip to Bubbaville without a visit to the Queen. Yummies for their sweet tummies. Perfect end to a spur-of-the-minute change of plan. They are so much more at ease with the elements back under control.

After eating dinner at Giovanni’s, we noticed this marking on the door: 1957 Flood Level. And, to think, I was upset about the pool being overfull.

Grandpa got a motorcycle

Just look who pulled up as we checked in to our hotel. Before realizing it was Uncle Bud and Aunt Viola, Jphn opined, "Looks like grandpa got a motorcycle." Bud was so pleased.

Welcome to beautiful downtown Lampasas. Not sure if the kids are more excited to arrive as to get out of the MonkeyMobile after taking in four and a half hours of lovely Texas countryside.
