Rainbow’s end

BOISE: My last evening alone was such a delight. This town is a hidden treasure. My fave was the couple who ran the b&b. There is something nurturing about waking to a personally prepared breakfast after a late night moon-washed chat in big porch chairs. Craig & Betti Newburn run a delightful business because it is who they are. She retired from Motorola, he from police work. Today he teaches junior high math and she world business courses online for The University of Phoenix. Today also happened to be their tenth anniversary; they met on a blind date, picked out wedding rings two weeks later and were husband and wife within four weeks more. Today, they’re as in love as ever. What a gift to meet them and experience their energy. Next trip, I’m only doing B&B’s.
Movie Palace
BOISE: There is only one thing better than a movie on a REALLY big screen. And that’s one on a really cool big screen. It’s my last night before heading home and I couldn’t resist this place. (A Bruce Willis shoot-em-up only made more irresistable). The Egyptiam Theater is 80 years old and dates back to the days of silent movies. In fact, that’s the actual organ used to accompany them–and it STILL works. The state-of-the-art THX audio sounds even better in a big room. This is what The River Oaks should be… Or, even The Alabama after Bookstop closes. Wouldn’t that be great? ONE MORE THING: Thank God Bruce Willis was teamed with the Mac guy. If it had been PC, we’d alll be screwed.
