John and his posse aim for an A

Let me first stipulate that I have no idea how Nerf guns and a Flip video camera connect to creating a final project for Intro to Calculus. But, that’s exactly what John and his plastic weapon toting homies were up to today. I do understand their urgency: major project, major grade, due Tuesday. Working at the last minute. Where did he get that? I’m not sayin.

One more step to Eagle

Life Scout. Only five merit badges and a project stand between John and Eagle. That would also mean those things also stand between John and his license.

Federal Court leads to Court of Honor

John has one requirement standing between him and rank advancement: touring a Federal facility. I suggested prison. He opted for the court house. Step by step, John is on the trail to Eagle—and a driver’s license.

Getting high with John

John and I took the trip of a lifetime: Philmont Scout Ranch. Click here to read all about it on the live blog sent from the trip.

Fast turns with Johnny

Missed a turn this morning on the way to a client meeting. Drove  till I could make a u-turn. 90-degrees into the 180, my eyes landed on a go-cart track dangerously close to both my office and Johnny’s school. Little man and I had some words the night before; our fast thinking and sharp tongues landed us in opposing corners with no way out. My motto: when the going gets tough, the smart go play. So. I picked up John after school to work it out on the fast track. Some things need no explanation.  Come for a ride via the iPhone and see who goes the distance to win.
