Rounding up my Stella

My sweet equestrian came home tonight. Actually, we all went to pick her up. How could we resist seeing her ride in a closing horse show. My favorite part: getting my first Stella hugs in ten days. All my babies are home under my roof tonight. Sweet dreams to all.

Stella and her friend Kerry reprise their third annual arrival photo at the front gate of Camp Misty Meadows.

Everything two girls need for ten days. That explains why it took both of them to haul it down to their cabin.

B4 the fun begins…. In ten days they will participate in a horse show performed as a closing event.

Stella is all 4 this

Stella saved all her birthday money to get her first phone. What else, but an iPhone. Just in time for the Last DaddyMom Road Trip too! She, John, and Kate will join me in reporting from along the way here on the blog. How far we have come since those early dispatches from my Palm Treo.

Thoroughly modern Stella

The maxim about there being “no such thing as small parts,” was especially appropriate of Stella’s performance in this year’s school play. Her contribution to Thoroughly Modern Millie reminded me of her natural aptitude for stage performance. (That’s Stella one in from the right; red belt, arms up.) Good job, Stella.

That testy look has come over Stella

Last Saturday, Stella took her first SAT as part of the Duke Talent Search. She went in at 8am and came out at 12:30pm looking a tad bleary from the experience. Asked about it, Stella told me it was “like taking a really, really big Scantron.”
