Buy me peanuts and cracker jack

I love being at a baseball game. It’s a joy I have found late in life. Couldn’t be bothered when I was, say, John’s age. I took John out to see the Cardinals play (more like bludgeon) the Astros. He shares my love of the game—in an age appropriate way: bored to tears. Maybe someday he will see what I find so relaxing. In the meantime, I just flat loved getting two hours by his side. My boy and baseball. What could be better?

A new doo for Kate

Kate was not happy with her hair. She wanted to take charge and make some changes. There are two things a wise man does not attempt: change the course of mighty rivers or reason with a teenage girl. She wanted a new look and a new color. I think it looks great. That smile tells you Kate feels the same.

Help me CAPTCHA comment spam

If you leave a comment on any our Driving with DaddyMom posts, you’ll notice there’s now a required CAPTCHA field. I didn’t want to do this. But, in the past three days, I’ve received over 30 spam comments. Similar to the spam you get in email, these comments are generic kudos created and sent by “spambots” to generate reciprocating links for some weasel’s website. You never see them because I report them as spam and move on. But, the frequency of them has risen from bothersome to irritating. CAPTCHA may mean an extra step for you, but it’s defeat for spambots. Thanks for understanding.

Grant likes meat…. Lots of meat.

Grant and Kate share the same birthday. Something we will have to find a way of dealing with….. This year, Sandie and I took everyone out for a birthday dinner to Fogo de Chau because it’s Grant’s fave dining spot. I think he enjoyed it…

Fun in the sun again

20110619-080904.jpg

Every spring, John Paul II celebrates spring with a field day called Fun In The Sun, or FITS. I was back out there soaking up the UV’s, helping out when Zu came by to show me her big prize. Life has few constants. Thankfully Zuzu’s love of cows is one of them. I wonder sometimes if she remembers where it started. A story for another time.
