day out of history with mixed results. Best visit: the schoolhouse
where they learned about the OTHER kind of switch.

All agreed this beat the buffet at The Hampton Inn. A journey into the

Leave late, arrive late

John’s field trip returned late. So, we were late getting the trailer
and late getting to camp and even later getting to Lafayette. Arrived
at Midnight. My girls will be hearty travelers.

There really is no way to capture the singular joy of I-10 after
crossing the Louisiana border. The pavement gaps clunk beneath the
tires giving the whole car an irritating bump-de-bump ride. It’s not
all bad–helped keep me awake.
