PORTLAND: Newly restored, PGE Park is home to The Portland Beavers minor league baseball team; a farm team for The Seattle Mariners. The stadium reminds me of Fenway, nestled in the midst of a neighborhood. Minor league is all promotion all the time. I love their Fan Van: so Oregon-attitude.

PORTLAND: Here’s something you don’t see everyday… Mass transit that works: buses, light rail, and trolleys. I asked and no one can remember the last time there was a car-train accident. Go figure. Maybe it’s working because the Belo station’s chopper was working hard looking for traffic to no avail…

PORTLAND: The waiter didn’t have a single good idea for dessert. So, he referred me here: Papa Haydn’s. It’s a Portland pop spot for 20 years. As you can see, not a good choice here either. So, I better make a bad one.
