This giant chapeau appears at the end of Hollywood Blvd, MGM… er, Disney Hollywood Studios’ main street completely obscuring the Graumann’s Chinese Theatre replica behind it. However, it also provides space for a nifty gift shop–and those are hard to find here.

Our first full day and the weather is perfect: a brisk 65 degrees will lift to lower 70’s all day. Last night, by the way, temps dipped here down into the mid 30’s. Thankfully, that’s the last we’ll see of THAT if the forecat is right. And, how often are those guys wrong?

Today’s our first full day and we’re starting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It was Disney’s MGM Studios, but the name changed and no one could explain why. Could it be that MGM was acquired by Turner which was then acquired by Time-Warner and they have their own theme park interests and this might be a conflict with that and other integrated platform offerings? Or, maybe Mickey just doesn’t like sharing any percentage of title. When I asked the kids what they thought about it for a moment before Kate said, “We need to get our Tower of Terror Fast Pass right away.” And, away we go. (My bet is B, btw)

Mickey’s very merriest Christmas parade comes to a close as Santa sleighs the crowd with holiday cheer. Zuzu saw the whole thing from a curbside seat. As it ended, she lept to her feet saying, “That was the best parade ever!”
