Our street: largely spared

We saw only a few downed limbs around the neighborhood. No structural damage, no broken windows. It was rain and wind and now it’s clean up time.

Wet running

The bayou here is normally about 25% the size of what’s flowing today. Despite the footpath being partially submerged, we still saw joggers getting in their miles. God knows I’d like to run…

As we crest the Kirkwood bridge headed north, we discovered one possible reason for our lack of electric. This tree went down, taking power lines with it. Add to this a number of transformers that exploded at the height of the storm. We could be without electric for a while.

Asta’s not sold

We abandoned our first effort at a walking tour this morning to survey the damage in the neighborhood (and our house). The rain started up again along with the wind. Asta cast the deciding go/no-go vote.
